Egmont National Park Digital Twin

A full size digital twin of Egmont National Park, located in New Zealand’s North Island.

The national park was digitalized from high resolution heightmaps and aerial imagery from Toitū Te Whenua – Land Information New Zealand. Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles via Cesium was used to stream in the surrounding areas all the way to the horizon.

One key feature of digital twins is live data integration. This project makes use of a live weather API and dynamic weather effects to perfectly sync the virtual world with the current location’s weather conditions.
